Site Upgrade

New Look, New Features

  • We're simplifying the navigation and organisation of the site, with better distinctions between our three user groups, or Faculties: Department Staff, Partner-agency staff and Carers

  • A new Learning Dashboard will become your personalised home page, once you login, with options and information relevant to you and your Faculty (*)
  • We are exploring on a new feature called Learning Plans which will be used to support Department Staff with their Learning Pathway
  • An improved global search to help you find what you're looking for
  • Better layout on mobile devices

* Some of these features cannot be fully developed or implemented until after the site has been upgraded and hence may not appear for some weeks after the upgrade.

Faculties and the Learning Dashboard

The new Learning Dashboard, your personalised home page, provides the first opportunity for our three Faculties, (Department Staff, Carers and Sector Staff) to be better supported on LDC Online.

Every LDC Online user is now identified by their faculty (Dept, Carer or Sector) with their dashboard customised and enhanced to better support their learning requirements.  Refinements to these specific Dashboards over the next month will involve highlighting that which is more relevant to each role staff, whilst hiding or downplaying that which targets the other faculties.

Departmental Staff's Learning Pathway and Learning Plans

Further enhancements are planned to support the additional requirements of our own staff and their Learning and Development. These will be implemented in two phases:

Phase 1 - Your Learning Pathway (April 2017): Your dashboard will incorporate the soon-to-be-published Departmental Learning Pathways of mandatory and recommended courses.  These documents are being updated to better align with the changes in Department structure, policy and process coming from the review of the Department.

Phase 2 - Your Learning Plans (July 2017): Once the formal "Learning Pathways" are finalised, work will commence on designing a number of personalised Learning Plans for every staff member. These plans will list recommended and mandatory training based on your role in the Department (as per the Learning Pathways) but will also allow for extensions and additions based on your specific needs or aspirations. These Learning Plans will automatically track your progress as you complete your training.
